After what felt like forever, I am finally back to writing—and this time, it feels more special than ever. The break was not planned, and certainly not peaceful. First, my phone broke down. Then, to make things worse, my laptop suffered a terrible liquid spill. I had no choice but to pause everything. And while life continued as usual—work, responsibilities, the regular chaos—I felt something missing all along. That missing piece was my blog. Writing had slowly become a part of who I am, a habit that gave me comfort and purpose. Without it, I felt like a part of my identity had taken a backseat. But now, I’m here again—back with my words, back with my stories, and it feels just right.

During this unplanned pause, there was one thought that kept me going—the excitement of the day I would finally return to writing. I imagined it so many times. And somehow, it feels poetic that my comeback happens today—on Friendship Day.

This day has always held a special place in my heart. Since childhood, I’ve loved the charm of exchanging friendship bands and heartwarming wishes. At midnight, my love Munchie tied a friendship band on my wrist. We might be partners in life, but more than that, we’ve always been best friends at heart. But the surprises didn’t end there. A delivery arrived, and it was from Zepto. Inside was a Friendship Day box that sparked a wave of nostalgia. The packaging was quirky, designed like the classic Facebook layout—something I hadn’t seen in years. It instantly took me back in time.

As I held the box in my hands, memories came rushing back—especially of those carefree days when Facebook was the ultimate way to stay connected. I still remember how, after tuition classes in high school, my friends and I would rush to a nearby café just to log in to our accounts for 15 minutes. That small window of time was enough to check messages, update statuses, and feel like we were a part of something bigger. It was our little ritual, a blend of excitement and friendship. Seeing that Friendsbook-themed box from Zepto felt like a time machine—it didn’t just bring goodies, it brought emotions and a reminder of how far we’ve come. And just like that, with all these moments layered on one another, I knew this was the perfect day to return to something I love deeply—blogging.

The outer packaging alone had already won my heart, but the real magic began when I opened the box. It was filled with all the nostalgic items that could easily take any 90’s kid back in time. Each item was a piece of childhood—a memory tucked neatly into a cardboard box. Zepto’s Friendship Day box wasn’t just a surprise, it was an experience, a time capsule that brought back moments that shaped the fun, innocent years of growing up.

The first thing that caught my eye was the adorable Slam Book. Back in school, exchanging Slam books with friends felt like a secret tradition. We’d ask our closest pals to fill them with thoughts, secrets, and little jokes. And once filled, we’d hide them somewhere safe at home, as if they held national secrets, just to keep them away from parents’ curious eyes. I handed this one to Munchie first—not because he was part of my school memories, but because he’s the closest person in my life today. He wasn’t there in high school to fill a Slam Book, but now, years later, it feels only right that he’s the first to write in this one.

The marbles brought a rush of memories from my village visits. We cousins used to sit for hours, playing and competing, as if those tiny glass balls decided the winner of the day.

The laser light reminded me of a classmate who’d bring one to school. Back in school, everyone would gather around just to hold the laser light for a moment, aiming it like a magical beam. I used a laser pointer during a recent presentation, but it didn’t spark the same thrill. The tiny magnets brought a smile too. Unlike today’s fridge magnets, we’d excitedly test every metal surface at home to see where they’d stick.

The candies were my absolute favorite. I’ve always had a sweet tooth, and these 90’s candies were the root of that love. And yes, Phantom Sweet Cigarettes were part of the box too. I’ve never even touched a real cigarette, but when it comes to these sugary sticks, I’d eat them with all the joy in the world.

Then came the nostalgic pen—the classic white pen with a blue cap. It might be basic, but for many of us, it marked the start of our writing journey.

Alongside it was the fun pen-pencil, the one with a tiny eraser attached. I still don’t know why I loved it so much, but it felt like a treasure back then.

There was also a bouncing ball and a top. The bouncing ball cost just five rupees, yet I somehow lost it every single time, no matter how careful I was. The spinning top, though, meant much more—it held memories of quiet evenings with my dad. We’d sit together, laughing as it twirled on the floor. Those moments felt simple but unforgettable.

And then, there was the classic game: Name – Place – Animal – Thing. It was the perfect way to spend a free period in class. My notebooks always had pages filled with that game, scribbled in various handwritings from different friends.

I also found colorful papers, I used to tear out of notebooks to fold into boats, planes or to play that game. “Colorman, colorman, what color do you choose?”

The rollable ruler instantly took me back to school days when it wasn’t just a stationery item—it doubled as a colorful wristband. We’d unroll it, use it in class, and then snap it back around our wrists like a fashion statement. It made us feel cool, playful, and a bit rebellious in the most innocent way.

And finally, the two adorable friendship bands at the bottom of the box truly completed the surprise. One was in my favorite shade of pink, and the other in green—it felt like the perfect choice for Munchie. From friendship bands to shared laughs, some connections only deepen as the years go by.

But no, the story doesn’t end there—because I did something dramatic, something unforgettable. I made my friend—wait, let’s be real—my love, sign an official Best Friend Agreement. Yes, a real one, declaring him my best friend for life. The moment felt like a movie scene, full of laughter, mischief, and a dash of emotion. And guess who made it possible? Zepto, of course, for delivering not just a box, but a memory sealed with love and a signature that made everything feel wonderfully real.
