From Crunch to Chach: Bingo Tedhe Medhe Masala Tadka Chach

I’ve always been a loyal fan of Bingo snacks. Whether it’s their bold flavours, creative packaging, or quirky product names, there’s something fun and memorable about everything they do. Over time, I’ve tried almost every variety—spicy, tangy, or overloaded with masala. Naturally, I thought I had seen it all. However, what happened recently made me realize I had underestimated them.

On one particularly hot afternoon, when the sun felt relentless and the air was heavy with heat, I decided to stop at a roadside juice stall to grab a glass of lemon juice. As I stood there, wiping the sweat off my forehead and waiting for my drink, something unusual caught my eye.

To my surprise, tucked inside the icebox was a chilled bottle with a label that read Bingo Tedhe Medhe Masala Tadka Chach. At first, I thought I had misread it. After all, Bingo is known for chips and snacks, not beverages. Curious, I stepped closer to double-check. The label was unmistakable—bright colours, playful design, and that classic Tedhe Medhe branding. It wasn’t a dream. It was real.

Without hesitation, I picked up the bottle. The vendor, almost amused, handed it to me with a smile that said he had seen this reaction before. The bottle was ice-cold, and holding it instantly made me feel a little more human in that oppressive heat. Still, I had no idea what to expect from a Bingo-branded buttermilk.

As soon as I opened it, the aroma was familiar—spicy, tangy, and inviting. I took a cautious sip, unsure of what Bingo’s take on chach would taste like. But then, all my doubts disappeared. It was surprisingly flavourful. The drink had all the traditional elements of a classic Indian chach—cumin, black salt, a little chilli—but with an unmistakable twist. It was as if Bingo had taken the masala magic of their snacks and poured it into a refreshing drink.

What really impressed me was how well the flavours balanced each other. The spices didn’t overwhelm the palate. Instead, they blended beautifully with the smooth, tangy buttermilk base. Every sip delivered a zesty punch, followed by a cooling finish that made me crave another gulp.

Moreover, it wasn’t some modern or fancy version of buttermilk trying too hard to be cool. On the contrary, it felt deeply rooted in Indian flavours, yet had that playful Bingo personality. In other words, it was different, but not in a way that tried to reinvent the wheel.

After finishing the bottle, I couldn’t stop thinking about how something so unexpected could work so well. I hadn’t seen this product in supermarkets or online, which made me wonder—was it new? A trial product? Or maybe just available at select places? Whatever the case, it felt like I had stumbled upon a hidden gem.

Later that day, I told my friends about it. As expected, they were shocked. One of them even thought I had made it up. However, once I shared a photo, the tables turned. Suddenly, they were intrigued. A few of them went out looking for it the very next day.

Reflecting on it, this move by Bingo makes perfect sense. They’ve always been fearless when it comes to flavour. This chach was just another bold experiment—and one that actually worked. It carried the same spirit that makes their snacks so popular: full of personality, packed with taste, and totally unexpected.

Ultimately, this wasn’t just a drink—it was an experience. What began as a simple stop for lemon juice ended in a surprising discovery that merged two of my favourite things: spice and refreshment. Honestly, who would’ve thought a snack brand could pull off something like this so effortlessly?

If I ever spot it again, I won’t think twice. It’s going straight into my cart. And if Bingo decides to keep this product in their lineup permanently, I can already see it becoming my summer go-to. Sometimes, the best things are the ones that arrive without warning. And in this case, Bingo’s Masala Tadka Chach was one such delightful surprise.
