Whenever there’s a party with my friends, you’ll never find me hovering around the drinks counter. I’m always the one stationed at the food table, plate full, eyes scanning for the next best bite. If there’s one thing everyone knows about me, it’s that I never leave a snack uneaten. My friends joke that they need to hide the food if they want some for themselves. This weekend, I ended up discovering something new and surprisingly good. It’s a snack called Chak Now, and let me tell you, it’s nothing like the usual stuff. What made it stand out was not just its crunchy texture, but also the fact that it came in four completely different and intriguing flavours.

The first one I opened was the Chak Now Garlic Mixture. Even before tasting it, the aroma told me I was in for a treat. It had a rich, roasted garlic smell that was impossible to ignore. As I took the first bite, the sharp yet comforting taste of garlic hit me immediately, followed by a gentle blend of spices. It wasn’t overpowering—it was just right. Every bite had the kind of crunch that makes snacking addictive. This flavour felt bold and confident, the kind of snack you’d crave while watching your favourite show or gossiping with your cousins late at night. What I loved most was how real the garlic flavour felt—it wasn’t artificial or overly salty. It tasted like something carefully made, not rushed or mass-produced.

After devouring most of the garlic mixture, I moved on to Chak Now Moong Dal. Now, moong dal snacks have been around forever, but this one brought a freshness that surprised me. It was light, crispy, and had a very gentle seasoning—nothing too fancy, but exactly what you want when you’re in the mood for something simple yet satisfying. The lentils were roasted to perfection, giving that delicate crunch without feeling greasy or heavy. Eating it reminded me of those lazy evenings at home when my mother would serve freshly made snacks during tea time. There’s a kind of comfort in a snack that doesn’t try too hard to impress yet manages to win your heart. Chak Now’s Moong Dal did exactly that—it felt familiar and homely, yet better than most versions I’ve tried before.

Next up was the Chak Now Madras Mixture, and this one was a full-on flavour explosion. As soon as I opened the pack, the aroma of curry leaves and roasted spices filled the air. It took me straight to the southern streets of India, where every little shop sells their own version of spicy mixture. This one had it all—the zing of mustard seeds, the bite of green chillies, the crackle of crispy lentils, and a beautifully layered spice mix that stayed on your tongue long after you finished a mouthful. Each bite was different. Sometimes spicy, sometimes salty, sometimes nutty—and always delicious.

Finally, I tried the Chak Now Khatta Meetha. This one was a delightful contrast to everything else I had eaten so far. The sweetness wasn’t overpowering, and the sour notes were just enough to make your mouth water and want more. The combination of ingredients—like crunchy peanuts, small fried lentils, and sweet little bits—worked together so well that I found myself slowing down just to savour the flavour. This wasn’t a snack you just eat absentmindedly—it made you pay attention to what was happening in your mouth. It reminded me of the kind of snack you’d have while listening to music on your balcony during a rainy evening. Playful, comforting, and full of contrast—this flavour definitely stood out.

Each packet of Chak Now brought something totally different to the table. Together, they covered almost every mood a snacker could have. What impressed me the most was that none of these flavours felt artificial or overly processed. Each one had its own identity, and the ingredients felt fresh and thoughtfully chosen.
